Dear Caroline,
You are almost 6 months old! Time has flown by so quickly. Here are a few milestones you've hit since I last wrote:
- At your 4 month checkup, you weighed 16 lbs 10oz. You've gone from the 5th to the 95th percentile in weight since birth!
- You rolled over on your own around January 15th at 4.5 months old.
- I just KNEW you were teething and on February 8th, you cut your first tooth - the bottom right. Since then, you've gotten the one next to it - the bottom left. Your two little teeth are so sharp! You're still drooling everywhere and chewing on everything, so I'm sure we have more teeth on the way.
- On February 18th, you sat up on your own at 5.5 months old. You are sitting up on your own now completely and for long periods of time. Such a big girl!
- Your main loves in life are eating, being naked, bath time, being outside, and now swinging! Today, February 22nd, Danielle and I took you outside and put you in the baby swing. You LOVED it and were so happy. Every time we went to push you, you crinkled your nose and smiled so big. That sweet smile completely melts me. We loved watching you swing for the first time!
- You're so much better in the car now. We just fill your car seat with toys - your bug, Sophie your teething giraffe, a paci, and usually a ball and you're perfectly content.
- You're still getting up at night. Usually you sleep from 8pm until sometime between 3-5am. Sometimes you're up at ALL HOURS because of your teeth, but I can't complain too much because you're so sweet when I go to your room in the middle of the night.
- You're in size 3 diapers and 9-12 month clothes! I think at this point you weigh about 20 lbs! Everyone comments on how healthy and big you are. Mama and Daddy love your baby rolls.
- You're still exclusively breast fed and not very interested in trying solids. We've tried rice cereal, sweet potato, apple, and avocado and you just spit everything out. I think banana is next on the list.
- I gave you water for the first time today (a very small amount) and you LOVED it! We went out and bought sippy cups to celebrate so we'll have to see how you do with those this week.
You are my heart and soul. I truly live and breathe for you. Motherhood is amazing and gut wrenching, challenging, heartbreaking and rewarding all at the same time and I wouldn't trade my days with you for anything. I'm so thankful for you and all you've taught me in these last (almost) 6 months.
Love,
Mama
